So I just picked up my P226 Elite Talo edition and I cleaned it all up and went to put it back together and it just wont. I get it about an inch from being in battery and it locks up. I think I have pinpointed it on the guide rod getting stuck on the takedown lever area.6. I hate the “Gas Pedal” takedown lever. I’m sure from a standpoint of functionality it is reasonable, but it is SO UNBELIEVABLY UGLY. Several people have tried to no avail. This is a very common issue caused by fiddling with the FCU and leaving one of several candidate pieces out of position. More often than not the Takedown Safety Lever is the culprit. It could also be the slide catch lever spring, but first you need to get the slide off to tell. Look at post #26 in this thread.

Although for me the issue was the sear was blocking the take down lever from going back in. So you may have to push down on the top of it to move it out the way. The p365 fcu is definitely a pain in the ass compared to the 320.
