It is seldom going to see use so I am not looking for the ideal length. Remove spark plug & take a piece of 1-1.5mm solder, poke it in the plug hole all the way to the side of the cylinder then pull the saw over a couple of times. Remove the solder & measure the squashed end with a micrometer or decent set of calipers.
