Although 1997 is overall a better experience I'd say and has the most Berserk feel, the movies aren't bad by all means. Trilogy starts off rough, but by movie 3 it's amazing. Of course the manga is superior as it cuts content like the OG anime, but the movies also included some more important characters as well that 97 whiffed on.

There is no place to watch it in Japanese with a Japanese sub.
