See how much these two go for.Some don't properly support 21:9 but just stretch it, those that do can show you more with higher FoV with less distortion. Personally I play Apex Legends on 16:9 110 FoV which I like. A resolution bottleneck can cause strange or lower than expected performance. Most likely what you are seeing is FPS drops due to the resolution, when you play at such a low resolution with a beefy computer and get higher FPS you will see more drops.
