What was at the forefront of my mind was pretty much what all the other guests would have to go through. Imagine checking into a nice hotel.. immaculately clean, professional, safe… and then you go up to your floor and there's a giant trail of puke that goes right past your room. Oof.Most people see those and think they will never fall for them, when that is the exact purpose: a self-filtering pool of idiotic victims that will give the human scammer more time on actually viable prey. But targeted attacks rely on the complete opposite methodology. It isn't bulk, but targeted at a specific person. A small luxury tropical island resort. An older guy walks out of jewelry shop and comes right over to reception. He's together with a much younger lady who's twirling a sapphire bracelet on her hand.Part of it is that people are taking shorter vacations and passing up on booking the vacation rentals like VRBO and Airbnb and opting to stay in a hotel instead because it's a shorter duration vacation. tell them that the President of Freedonia is visiting, and he brought his entire staff with him.Out of nowhere, someone from the first floor's window yelled at the dog to silence it and the dog actually listened. That's how we found the owner. The guy had brought his dog with him, but decided to keep it outside. He had told it to stay sitting in the shadow, outside the view of the front desk, and then went inside and bought the ticket ...I was surprised because I said nobody was in that room and he said "oh yeah I booked online and came in and grabbed a key". "I'm a travel agent and just assumed you could check in on line". I just stood there trying to comprehend the absolute stupidity of this guy. He thought it was an online check in. something like this happened in a B&B we were staying at that housed up to 6 guest. 1 3 bed room and the other 2 could hold 2 each. I was in the 3 bed with my parents and we heard shouting from another room and loud bangs. i went out to check and the owner apologised for the noise as a guest refused to leave.Roughly, 30 minutes later one of the cops returns. Detective has called a second time. Cop goes up and comes down, once again, finding nothing wrong. Things seem to quiet down for a while, but two hours later (roughly 3:45am) a third cop arrives. Detective has called once more, and the cop has heard from his fellow officers of our Detective guest. Front desk firing. My new friend at work got fired. Around 530 am on my off day one of the house keepers came into the hotel extra early. She noticed no one was at the desk. Housekeeper calls the gm when she can't find the front desk agent. Gm comes to the property checks the cameras. Sees my coworker going to a guests room. The bill mentions that California law specifically forbids fraudulently calling a critter a service animal. CAPC §365.7. $1000 fine, six months in jail. Granted, the law is mostly for people trying to sell fake service dogs, but it's not saying that it's not about people trying to bring pets where they shouldn't... Night Audit Story…. Ok, so this is my first post! And since I’ve become a night audit about 10 weeks ago, this is my first real weird evening. So, it starts with a remote control not working. Nothing too crazy, I go upstairs reprogram it all good. Then, at about 1:34 in the morning, right as I begin my night audit, I noticed that I have a ...Read the email. Check in is at 4. So, not much. I’ve worked at 2 different hotels. The first hotel I worked at had a very very strict policy that hotel staff are not allowed to stay in the hotel as guests.lol. I'm just picturing the GM of some hole in the wall on the side of a highway with a tall sign advertising rooms for $39.99 reading this and bubbling over with a smug sense of pride. Practically running over to their only front desk computer to open that saucy file. 8 days ago.it goes beyond that. if they received a PPP loan they’re required to post openings and interview to fulfill a provision in the contract, but there’s an asterisk in the loan paperwork that they don’t have to hire anyone not fully qualified. so to get as much of that money as possible they’re “hiring” but not actually hiring. source: i processed thousands of PPP loans for a major ... The only reason you fake reservations to "hit threshold" to make bonuses for SOMEONE. That's fraud. That's falsifying business records. That's a firing offense pretty much anywhere. I have a friend who was told by her manager to write false reviews for their hotel to get their rating up.Freaky Hotel Guests. This post is referring to people who try to get front desk staff into their room for perverted reasons. A couple days ago, my friend was just telling me a story of how some person was trying to coerce them into their room by leaving them their key card. She then left a note the next morning with her contact information.Well, shortly after FOM calls on his day off to tell FDS that we are increasing their nightly rate by $128, nearly double their negotiated rate. The guest happened to be in the lobby and waived FDS over after the call to show her the lovely messages FOM was sending the guest. WELLLLLL apparently FOM borrowed $200 from the guest previously, and ... Enter Mr. and Mrs. Psychopath. They come to the front desk super nice, and PT checks them in. Everything goes well, until they get to their room. Horror of horrors, it's *the* room. Satan's den, the Unclean Room! They take videos of the unmade bed, full trash, towels on the floor, etc.I seriously hate this industry. Where do I even begin. I work full time at the front desk at a certain M brand hotel out of convenience. I live a block away from the hotel I work at, so I save a lot of gas money avoiding having a job I have to drive to, plus I can leave 5 minutes before my shift and clock in still with time to spare. People are generally understanding, if they ask for something simply say they are available at the front desk. If they push, you're the only one at the desk and aren't allowed to leave. I would rather have 100 negative reviews than a have a minor sexually harassed or assaulted under my watch. 99.The driver arrived with her food. For security purposes, we can’t send the drivers up to the rooms, so he waited in the lobby for her to come down and pick up her food. She got off the elevator wearing only a towel. This is kind of long and not anything extremely exciting. Something I felt like posting anyways. So for the past two weeks I've been running breakfast and the front desk. Our breakfast lady has gone MIA. Now we don't just have pastries and cereal for breakfast, we have to do a full hot breakfast ... More posts you may like. r/TalesFromTheFrontDesk. THREE Complaints in less than 24 Hours... - UPDATE. 332. 59. r/StardewValley.As "checking in" is the universal hotel term for the process in which the front desk actual checks you into the hotel, and gives you keys. OG and OL continue to look at me like I'm the one without a brain as I continue to check them in. Meanwhile I'm giving the check in monolog on autopilot, wondering how the hell these people got to their age ...It's NOT no problem. I'm working the desk and a Mom brings her hysterically crying 10-12 year old daughter to the desk. Tell her what you did, she tells her daughter. In between sobs the daughter tells me that she jumped up in the hallway and slapped the exit sign and it fell down. Her mom goes on to tell me that her daughter's going to ...A good remedy for heat burns is cold water, changed frequently. Thankfully, it's not too bad.So I finally have been asked a dumb question. Well the dumbest question so far. Been NA for a few years now.
